Sunday Night Football Touchdown Scorer Prop Bets
Miami Dolphins First TD Scorer: Jaylen Waddle (WR) +425
While Tyreek Hill was the star in Miami’s Week 1 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, Waddle should have a significant role this week. The former Alabama star has scored a receiving touchdown in three of four career matchups against the Patriots, with the lone exception coming in Week 17 last year when Tua Tagovailoa missed the game with a concussion. Furthermore, Waddle had the first offensive touchdown for Miami in two of those contests. Meanwhile, New England kept A.J. Brown out of the end zone in Week 1. However, they allowed the No. 2 wide receiver, DeVonta Smith, to have the first offensive touchdown of the game for the Philadelphia Eagles.
New England Patriots First TD Scorer: Hunter Henry (TE) +650
Last week, the first Los Angeles Chargers touchdown came from Austin Ekeler. Yet, the Dolphins haven’t surrendered a touchdown to Rhamondre Stevenson in four career matchups. Unfortunately, that likely won’t change this week. However, the first New England touchdown has been a pass in three of the past four matchups against Miami. Meanwhile, Hunter Henry had the first Patriots touchdown this season last week, scoring from nine yards out. More importantly, the Dolphins gave up 10 receiving touchdowns to tight ends in 2022, the fourth-most in the NFL. Furthermore, Donald Parham Jr. scored the only passing touchdown for the Chargers in Week 1.
Anytime TD Scorer: Raheem Mostert (RB €“ MIA) +135
The Dolphins have arguably the worst running back unit in the NFL. Last week, Mostert was the featured guy with Jeff Wilson Jr. on injured reserve and De’Von Achane recovering from a shoulder injury. While the rookie will play this week, he will likely have a limited role on offense. Therefore, expect the veteran to have another featured role in Week 2. Mostert had the first Miami touchdown last week, scoring from two yards away. The veteran running back also scored in the team’s Week 17 matchup against the Patriots last season. He should have his second consecutive game with a trip to the end zone Sunday night.
Anytime TD Scorer: Kendrick Bourne (WR €“ NE) +220
New England’s receiving core lacks a superstar name. Yet, they’ve gotten the job done against Miami over the past two years. Jakobi Meyers, Nelson Agholor, and Tyquan Thornton have been the most productive wide receivers against the Dolphins, each scoring a touchdown over the past four matchups. Unfortunately, all three won’t be on the field Sunday night. Therefore, someone else will need to step up for the Patriots. Last week, the player to step up was Kendrick Bourne. The veteran wide receiver had six receptions on 11 targets and the last two Mac Jones passing touchdowns in Week 1. With JuJu Smith-Schuster reportedly dealing with a knee issue, Bourne might be the go-to target again in the passing game.
