Australia v Netherlands predictions

Australia have battled back well from losing their opening two World Cup games to beat Sri Lanka and Pakistan, but they cannot afford to rest on their laurels as they seek a semi-final berth.

The Aussies still have New Zealand and England to play in India, so they will need to maintain focus against the Netherlands in Delhi on Wednesday.

South Africa found out what can happen if you take the Dutch lightly, sliding to an embarrassing defeat despite being in complete control when reducing the Netherlands to 82-5 midway through the first innings. And bookmakers go 9-1 that the Aussies suffer the same fate.

Even in their two recent wins Australia haven't been overly convincing, although it seems unlikely that they will take their eye off the ball in the same way as the Proteas.

Australia were on course for a mammoth score against Pakistan as openers David Warner and Mitchell Marsh both scored centuries in a 259-run first-wicket stand before the rest of their batters failed to build on that platform.

Warner made the most of a terrible drop early in his innings to plunder 163 from 124 balls and he will know the surface at the Arun Jaitley Stadium better than most from his two stints with Delhi in the IPL.

Warner scored 307 runs in seven innings at the venue in this season's IPL at an average of just under 44 with four half-centuries, and he could make his local knowledge pay against the Dutch.
