Four-year-old favourite to follow in footsteps of High Low, Very Wise and Penitent
We have installed William Haggas’ Mange All as our 14/1 favourite for the Betway Lincoln at Doncaster on 28th March.
Haggas is one behind Jack Robinson’s record of four wins in the Flat season curtain-raiser and as well as Mange All he could saddle Dream Spirit (20/1).
Sir Michael Stoute’s only entry Munaaser, Moohaarib from the Marco Botti yard, John Gosden’s GM Hopkins and Dermot Weld’s Stuccodor are all priced at 16/1.
Along with GM Hopkins, Gosden has Cornow (20/1) entered as he searches for a second Lincoln. Last year’s winner Ocean Tempest is a 20/1 shot to become the first horse since Babur in 1958 to win successive Lincolns. John Quinn’s 2013 victor Levitate is another priced at 20/1.
Big-field handicap specialist Bronze Angel is also 20/1 to land another lucrative pot and Marcus Tregoning’s other entry Boom And Bust is 33/1. One of Haggas’ former winners of the race, Penitent, now trained by David O’Meara, is 25/1.
Chatez was well-fancied for the Balmoral Handicap at Ascot when last seen on the Flat and is 25/1 for Alan King. Richard Fahey has eight possible with Gabrial at 20/1 the shortest priced.
Aidan O’Brien’s sole entry Bishan Bedi is 33/1 and other notable names from the 121 entries are former Lockinge second Sovereign Debt (33/1), 2013 Royal Hunt Cup hero Belgian Bill (20/1) and, what would be an appropriate winner, Mick Channon’s Lincoln (25/1).
